Overwatch Practice Range Mode: Training Partner

While testing Echo in the Practice Range on the PTR, I noticed a feature I had not seen before: Training Partner.

I launched the live game, and the feature isn’t present, which means Training Partner is a new feature.

Basically, you stand near the computer terminal where a tooltip appears:

“PRESS H TO CHANGE TRAINING PARTNER”

When you press H, you can select any of the 32 heroes to be your trianing partner.

The Training Partner spawns on the disc, and you can use any hero as the target practice from close range or long range. Pretty good to test how many Echo shots or ability combos are needed to kill a specific hero.

Personally, it seems like a good feature to test a hero against all of the other heroes — but I think the Training partner feature should have gone a bit bolder.

Make the computer switch all of the stand-still and moving dummies for the specific hero you choose, or back to the dummy ones. That way you can practice against a moving Reaper, or Tracer, or Junkrat, etc.

In this video, I test Echo with all 32 heroes as Training Partners.
