Overwatch Map Teaser: Banco de Dorado Robbery

Blizzard Entertainment posted a new Overwatch map teaser featuring Banco de Dorado (spanish for Golden’s Bank). Now this map image is a hand-drawn map showing a path from Start to Exit.

Speculation # 1

We have seen other Overwatch maps with a specific objective where you have to escort a payload up to the objective location you must deliver it to. However, this specific Banco de Dorado map is weird in the sense that it seems to indicate or hint (whether I’m wrong or not) this might be a coop multiplayer mode against AI.

Again, I might be very wrong. However, Banco de Dorado Robbery reminds me a lot of a very fun and hard map in
PAYDAY: The Heist where the player enters a Bank with the purpose of obtaining the key to the vault, and you have to rob the Bank and fight your way through lots of cops and military-grade-armor soldiers. Utter chaos.

Here is a gameplay video I just played a few minutes ago as an example:

Could this be similar to PAYDAY: The Heist? And a new player mode other than team vs team?

Speculation # 2

Most likely this is team vs team. Team 2 is likely spawning at the Bank and you have to stop Team 1 from completing the Robbery objective. Basically, Team 2 plays as the bank cops? The fact the “$” dollar symbol has arrows pointing at six different spots around the wall indicates the player has to grab money bags from the table or vaults. We will get more details about Banco de Dorado Robbery next week.

A closer look at the map hints the two new characters teased a few days ago are part or will be unveiled along with this new Banco de Dorado map. Check out the resemblance between the characters and the hand-drawn circles (people) in the map.

The Kaboom part might hint at one of the characters being some sort of pyromaniac or demolition specialist.
