Blizzard World Map Solo Exploration
The new Overwatch map Blizzard World is now on the PTR. Though it looks huge, you don’t have access to the entire amusement park. It is comparable with Hollywood and Junkertown.
The attack team starts at the Hearthstone Tavern, and when the gate opens you are in front of the Valley of Heroes in Stormwind. There are two possible access points to go inside. The frontal gate can be accessed from either of both stairways, or from the side stairway by the Ancient Curios building. Regardless of which of these three stairs you go through, there is only one big door (chokepoint).
The second way to bypass the chokepoint is on the left side, through the Lost and Found Vikings store. Go upstairs, and you are immediately behind the chokepoint to attack the enemy from behind.
Once the chokepoint is passed through you stand before the statue of Turalyon. Here there are two buildings with a second floor each where a Widow, Torbjorn and Bastion can be a nuisance. First, the Flight to Duskwood building (On the right), and the Fargo Deep Mine (on the left). There is another high-ground near Snaxxramas (the one with the boat with baloons) that you can go up to through stairs in the back.
Once the point is taken, a payload comes out and you push into The Nexus Experience.
Even if the enemy team holds you at that gate, there is a door on the side of the Flight to Duskwood building that leads you straight behind enemy lines in the Nexus Experience. This map is full of flanking and high ground — which makes for a chaotic fun experience.
Once you push the payload through The Nexus Experience, past the Heroes Arcade, you enter the Cathedral of Tristram at The Reign of the Black King attraction. The goal is to bring the payload to the throne of Leoric.
In the video below, I explored the Blizzard World map solo in the Custom Games for 22 minutes. There are many props, and voice recordings when you enter the different buildings. If you wish to skip the exploration, go beyond 23:17 to watch a quick 6v6 gameplay in the Arcade. Playing as Moira for the first time felt a bit confusing with the healing and damage orbs, but it was fun.
