Micky Neilson’s latest newsletter shows just a peek at Ludo Lullabi’s art. Ludo will be illustrating the upcoming Overwatch: Omnic Crisis graphic novel. If you need memory refreshing, or simply have no clue — Ludo Lullabi was the penciler of the DC/Wildstorm World of Warcraft comic book, World of Warcraft: Curse of the Worgen, and World of Warcraft: Ashbringer. If you have seen the Legendary card of Gelbin Mekkatorque in Hearthstone — that’s his artwork too.
At the moment of this posting, there is no release date yet for Overwatch: Omnic Crisis other than 2016. The colored version of the image shown at SDCC 2015, was shown by Chris Metzen at BlizzCon 2015.
: Full speed ahead! Ludo is plugging away at the art! Eye-popping gorgeousness and much excitement will ensure. If you don’t know what Overwatch is yet, for shame! Go here
and be enlightened.
If that Tracer illustration is just a tease for what we might expect, I certainly want to pre-order already. What about you?
Micky Neilson announced he is writing a graphic novel titled OVERWATCH: THE OMNIC CRISIS. Artwork will be penciled by Ludo Lullabi (WORLD OF WARCRAFT: The ASHBRINGER). We have more details in our SDCC 2015 Overwatch coverage.
: First off, I can’t even tell you all how excited I am to be writing OVERWATCH: THE OMNIC CRISIS!
My fellow story comrades here at Blizzard started me off with an already amazing outline, and the project has only gotten better from there! For us authors, some books/stories almost seem to write themselves; others need to be dragged out from the inner recesses of our brains kicking and screaming. I’m happy to say the Overwatch GN falls into the former category. Overwatch is the most fun I’ve had writing a comic in a long time, and I can’t wait for you all to experience it!
So excited to work with Ludo Lullabi again. Ludo and I first worked together on World of Warcraft: Ashbringer and Ludo’s art has only gotten better.
Overwatch: Omnic Crisis will detail the origins of the international team called Overwatch. It will feature Jack Morrison, just featured in a short animated piece, as well as Reinhardt, Torbjorn and more!
If you don’t know what Overwatch is yet, for shame! Go here and be enlightened.

A day before BlizzCon, Blizzard Entertainment trademarked the Overwatch logo.
During the Overwatch panel Q&A, Chris Metzen responded a fan there are plans to give fans some of the Overwatch backstory in some ways.
The logo trademark includes printed matter such as comic books, graphic novels, novels, and other media such as headgear, clothing and footwear.
Looks like we might be hearing soon of new Overwatch merchandise. So far the first one was on sale at BlizzCon online store: the Tracer statue (slated to ship on February 2015).
