New York Comic Con NYCC 2018 Blizzard Entertainment Schedule

For the first time ever at New York Comic Con, there will be a NYCC 2018 Blizzard Entertainment booth (#522) through October 4-7 (as seen in this NYCC page). I do have to point out that the map shows booth 522 is taken by Direct TV. The Mobile App also shows the same result. There is definitely a mistake. Last time the Mobile App was updated was April 2018. I reached out to Blizzard Entertainment to learn more. Follow on Twitter @Blizzplanetcom for updates.

All days are sold out except for Thursdays (while supplies last). Badges can be obtained here.

When visiting the Blizzard booth page, there is no description of what to expect there, but the only social media displayed in the page is the Overwatch Facebook. This makes me wonder if there will be a new hero or map announcement there, but that’s mere speculation. Again, this is the first time ever that Blizzard has an official booth there. I can tell because I have gone every year with a media badge since 2008.

My first interview with Chris Metzen was in 2008 at the Simon & Schuster booth. There have been two Blizzard Publishing panels in past NYCC events, but never a Blizzard booth. So this is new terrain. There is no precedent where new content such as heroes, maps, or else has been revealed at NYCC. The usual platforms for such things are GamesCom, BlizzCon, PAX East, PAX Prime, and rarely at E3.

There is however a new panel in the NYCC schedule that feels like a first time ever too. If I am not mistaken this is at the Main Stage on Level 1 at the Javits Center in Manhattan, NY.
