King’s Row Uprising Holiday Event?

Easter starts officially on Sunday, April 16th and it is likely no coincidence that Blizzard Entertainment is teasing April 11th heavily through transmedia.

The first tease was posted via Twitter announcing that declassification of files would be revealed on April 11th.

This Overwatch Mission Archive reveals the King’s Row Uprising happened 7 years ago. There is a silhouette of Tracer, a poster that says Mandatory Omnic Registration, and there are two images that aren’t too clear to figure out.

A few days later, Blizzard Entertainment published the newest digital comic titled Uprising, where we see a younger Tracer being trained to join Overwatch.

This comics describes an incident where there are hostages in the power plant in King’s Row. McCree is sent in by Gabriel Reyes for recon assignment. Toward the end of the comic, Soldier: 76 sends Reinhardt, Torbjorn, Tracer and Mercy to take care of the hostage situation.

I think it is pretty clear what’s going on here. Blizzard is teasing the next Holiday Event to celebrate Easter. However, it remains to be seen exactly how it is themed around Easter, or whether there is nothing Easter-minded about it. Maybe it is a new Season 3 map. Maybe it is a new Arcade map that stays around. Or maybe it is a 1-2 week holiday event.

We’ll just have to wait a few days more to find out what the Overwatch team has cooked for us. Hopefully you are excited as I am.
