D.va Actress Teases Friday Reveal

D.va voice over actress Charlet Chung posted on her Twitter page an enigmatic tease. On Friday, June 23 something will be revealed. The only other significant clue is her image which shows the Overwatch logo at one of the Blizzard Entertainment hallways, and the hashtag #Hype.

Personally, I can only think of a few possible features that might qualify as a content reveal:

  • cinematic reveal (i.e. The Last Bastion, Sombra’s Infiltration, or Winston’s Recall)
  • Digital Comic Book
  • New Special Event (i.e. Uprising)
  • All of the above?

Outside those parameters, it is hard to imagine a VO actor could possibly know for certain something Blizzard Entertainment is planning to do unless she was part of the project in question and authorized to comment and share in public about her participation in an Overwatch project in as secretive and limited fashion as possible.

Maybe it is not about game content, but instead a reveal of her public appearances schedule for 2017-2018 convention events? Then … “Sneak peeks all week” … daily updates? Hmm.

This tease certainly stirs some hype. Who doesn’t love countdowns? Friday, June 23!

Update

Charlet Chung responded tweets from fans and confirms things that are NOT the Friday reveal:

It is not a comic book.
It is not a skin.
It is not an Animated Short
It is not a D.va Cinematic

But whatever it is … it is Overwatch related. It includes D.va and Lucio. And she was at Blizzard Entertainment recently as shown by her photo with Story developer Michael Chu.

Curious that it is none of the things you would expect. However, in the video below, both Lucio and D.va actors answer a question from a fan: “Will you ever come to Portugal to a Con (Convention) or something? D.va responded caressing her hair, and playing coy.

D.va: We are excited about one that hasn’t been announced yet.
Lucio: Which we won’t say here.
D.va: We are not allowed to.
Lucio: But we will say in the future.
D.va: Oh, yea!
Lucio: So stay stuned, but we can’t say

Considering BlizzCon 2017 was announced already, this one seems intriguing.
